Recently, ANSEF 2021 grant named after Yervand Terzyan was awarded to a project which will be implemented in the framework of collaboration between L. A. Orbeli Institute of Physiology and Foldink Bioprinting Company. The grant project is executed under the auspices of the FAR (Fund for Armenian Relief). 28 scientific groups were chosen out of 169 applicants. This award is a big honour and a very high responsibility for our team, and we will deploy our full potential and efforts towards successful research results.
This project aims to create bioprinted aortic valve samples that can pave the way for implantation of these constructs in the future. We have developed special formulations of bioinks suitable for this specific purpose. We are further planning to carry out in vivo testing and verify the reliability of the engineered grafts.
